Our Story

The Isaaq people endured a horrific period of systematic violence and extermination at the hands of the Somalia government. This relentless campaign of persecution resulted in the loss of over half a million innocent lives, leaving countless Isaaq families shattered and forever scarred by the atrocities they witnessed.

Despite the immense suffering inflicted upon the Isaaq community, the Isaaq Genocide remains one of the most underacknowledged and unrecognized atrocities of the 20th century. The international community’s failure to officially recognize this tragedy has compounded the trauma and injustice experienced by the Isaaq people.
